David West Is Retiring After 15 Seasons

David West is finally calling it quits in the league after two championships and a 15 year career. West was first drafted to the Hornets with the 18th pick in the 2003 NBA draft. And later playing for teams like the Pacers, Spurs, and finally the Warriors. Throughout his career, West was a powerful big man that was one of the earlier power forwards to incorporated the three point shot to his game. He only won his championships with the Warriors at the end of his career.

In announcing his retirement David West stated, “I have been fortunate enough to live out my childhood dream of playing in the NBA. After 15 seasons, I have decided to retire from the game of basketball. I am humbled and thankful for the support of my family, friends, coaches, teammates, organizations and fans throughout this experience. To anyone who has ever cheered me on, been in my corner, prayed or simply said a nice word on my behalf, I am grateful. Belief in yourself is not negotiable. Cheers!”
