New coach of the New York Knicks, David Fizdale is still getting used to the New York state of mind. After being fired from his last coaching job in Memphis, Fizdale is ready to make some moves as head coach of the Knicks.

Fizdale has been close to Kristaps Porzingis all offseason long, even to the point where he met him and his family in Latvia. The relationship that Fizdale gained with Porzingis has already opened the door for him to coach and prep him for the upcoming 2018-19 season.

On WNBC featuring Bruce Beck Fizdale explains some of the things that he has been doing with Porzingis, “He likes the challenge of me saying ‘I want him to be the MVP’ and ‘I want him to be the Defensive Player of the Year.’ That’s real competitors, they want that and I’m going right at it with him. I want him to look at himself that way.”
